Femininjas

We are the femininjas: a collective of those who are (1) feminists and (2) ninjas. We combine the liberation of feminism and the stealth of ninjitsu into “femininjitsu;” a cunning art using sharp wit to slice through bullshit.

We envision a feminism for all women. We want a world that makes decisions where those most affected are the ones first heard. And we believe that this is only possible when we hear and honour the voices of women in sex work, transsexual transgedered and intersex women, kinky women, and women who have been abused by their same-sex partners.

Sex work is dangerous and stigmatized, but it is a job and a means of survival for many women. And as with any other job, the people who do the work and are affected by the work (i.e. the sex workers themselves) are the ones with the expertise about what to do with it.

Trans people are living proof that biology is not destiny. So our goal is full trans equality. Besides: who would be foolish enough to turn away someone with the courage, brains and strength to come out as a woman – let alone one who wants to volunteer?

A woman has the right to give consent for herself. She has the right to use her body and mind free of judgment and suspicion. Fully informed, negotiated and consentual kink is one more way that women can take back choice over our own minds and body.

We know that women are not just passive targets, and that many forms of abuse can and do exist in same-gender relationships.

We believe that the second wave was a good first draft.

We know that there is more to sisterhood than victimhood.

We are the femininjas.

We are not just taking back the night, we are reinventing it.

We will dilate your awareness.
